JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Accounts Assistants- Payebles 

Reports to: Finance & Administration Manager

Salary Range: KSh 40,000 - 45,000

Our client a Law firm is urgently seeking an Accounts Assistant-Payebles to support the Finance & Administration Manager with various accounting tasks, including managing receivables, payables, tax compliance, and credit control. The role involves generating financial reports, reconciling accounts, preparing invoices, handling petty cash, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a solid understanding of financial processes. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receivables: Generate revenue reports, prepare proforma invoices, reconcile debtors, and ensure accurate billing and revenue capture.
  • Payables: Manage payments, prepare and send forwarding letters, reconcile accounts, and handle petty cash.
  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax obligations including VAT, PAYE, and NSSF, and file returns.
  • Credit Control: Lead the credit control process, manage collections, and minimize bad debt exposure.
  • General Accounting: Maintain accurate records, manage fixed asset register, perform bank reconciliations, and assist with audits.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
  • CPA (K) and membership with ICPAK.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a finance/accounting role, preferably in a law firm.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics 365) and ERP systems.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
