Our client in the Manufacturing of Hygiene and Sanitary items located in Ruiru is looking to fill the positions of a Lab Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all hygiene and sanitary products meet the required quality standards. The role involves conducting routine quality tests, supervising lab staff, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring that raw materials and finished products comply with industry standards.
Laboratory Operations:
Supervise and manage all laboratory activities to ensure accurate and timely testing of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.
Quality Control:
Conduct routine and non-routine tests on paper products (including tissue, towels, napkins, etc.) to ensure hygiene and sanitary standards are met.
Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations to improve product quality or resolve issues.
Team Management:
Lead and supervise a team of laboratory technicians and assistants.
Provide training to lab staff on testing procedures, safety protocols, and laboratory best practices.
Ensure that laboratory equipment is regularly calibrated, maintained, and in good working order.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure the lab complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Maintain and update lab safety protocols and ensure that staff adhere to safety standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of test results, quality reports, and inventory logs.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with R&D and production teams to implement process improvements, troubleshooting, and product development.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a quality control or laboratory role in the paper industry (Papermill), with a focus on hygiene and sanitary products.
Strong leadership and team management abilities. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
