Position Scope

Our client in the Manufacturing of Hygiene and Sanitary items located in Ruiru is looking to fill the  positions of a DCS attendant F who will be responsible for operating and monitoring the Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure optimal performance of the deinking plant processes,Oversee the entire deinking process and Ensure the output pulp meets quality specifications for hygiene and sanitary paper production .

Job Description

  1. DCS Operation and Monitoring:

    • Operate and monitor the Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure optimal performance of the deinking plant processes.

    • Maintain stable process conditions, including temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical dosages, according to the production plan.

  2. Process Control:

    • Oversee the entire deinking process, including pulping, screening, flotation, washing, and bleaching.

    • Perform real-time adjustments to parameters based on operational requirements or deviations from set standards.

    • Ensure the recovery of fibers and optimal reduction of contaminants.

  3. Equipment Management:

    • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and equipment within the deinking plant.

    • Identify and report any malfunctions or anomalies in plant operations to the relevant departments.

  4. Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure the output pulp meets quality specifications for hygiene and sanitary paper production.

    • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to implement process improvements to enhance output consistency and efficiency.

  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment within the plant.

    • Ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations concerning waste management and emissions.

  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate logs of plant operations, adjustments made, and issues encountered during shifts.

    • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on plant performance and efficiency to supervisors.

  7. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other operators, process engineers, and the maintenance team to meet production targets and address technical challenges.

    • Participate in training and mentoring junior staff or new team members on DCS operations.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years operating the Deinking Plant DCS, aded advantage in a paper mill environment.
