Job Title: Payroll Accountant

Job Purpose:
Our client, a reputable professional services firm providing accounting, tax, payroll, audit, and advisory services to a diverse client base, is seeking to recruit a Payroll Accountant to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely payroll services to a diverse client portfolio.

The successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with Kenyan statutory requirements, and support strong client relationships while maintaining high service standards.

Job Description

  • Process end-to-end payroll for multiple clients accurately and on time
  • Review payroll inputs including overtime, bonuses, benefits, and adjustments
  • Calculate and file statutory deductions including PAYE, NSSF, SHA, NITA, Housing Levy, and other applicable levies
  • Prepare and submit payroll returns through KRA iTax
  • Maintain accurate payroll data, system integrity, and secure records
  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for assigned payroll clients and respond to payroll queries
  • Prepare payroll summaries and periodic reports for client review
  • Support payroll audits and reconciliations while maintaining strict confidentiality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field
  • CPA or ACCA qualification
  • 3–5 years’ relevant payroll experience, preferably within a professional services firm
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan payroll laws and statutory compliance
  • High attention to detail and strong client communication skills
