The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for supporting the teaching and learning of science subjects by preparing, maintaining, and managing laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials. The role ensures that all laboratory activities are conducted in a safe, organized, and efficient manner while complying with established safety standards and school policies. The Laboratory Technician will work closely with science teachers and students to facilitate practical lessons and maintain a conducive laboratory environment
Assist teachers and students during laboratory experiments and practical sessions.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory chemicals and apparatus.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the laboratory at all times.
Keep accurate records of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables.
Identify faulty equipment and report for repair or replacement.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and school policies.
Support in conducting laboratory demonstrations and experiments as required
Diploma or Certificate in Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
At least 1 year relevant work experience, preferably in a school or academic environment.
Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and handling of chemicals.
Strong organizational and time-management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism.
