Job Title: Zone Supervisor

Department: Field Operations                                 Location: Mombasa County (Field + HQ)

Duration: 30 working days                                       Daily Rate: Ksh. 1,800

POSITION SUMMARY

Zone Supervisors provide direct field supervision of 3 data collection teams each, ensuring daily targets are met and field protocols are followed. They serve as the primary point of contact between field teams and the Operations Lead, resolving immediate challenges and maintaining team morale and productivity.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

        Directly supervise 3 Team Leaders and their DCO teams.

        Conduct morning briefings and zone orientation for assigned teams

        Monitor real-time progress of teams against daily collection targets

        Perform spot checks on data quality and collection methodology in the field

        Resolve immediate field challenges (access issues, equipment problems, hostile encounters)

        Ensure team safety and adherence to field protocols

        Report hourly progress updates to Operations Lead

        Coordinate with other Zone Supervisor for cross-zone support when needed

        Verify team attendance and manage daily sign-in/sign-out

        Escalate unresolved issues to Operations Lead within 30 minutes

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

        Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any field

        Minimum 3 years of experience in field supervision roles

        Previous experience in data collection, surveys, or census activities preferred

        Thorough knowledge of Mombasa County geography and ward boundaries

        Experience supervising teams of 15+ personnel

        Valid driving license preferred

        Excellent communication in English and Swahili

        Problem-solving under field conditions

        Basic smartphone proficiency for coordination and reporting

        GPS navigation and map reading

        Time management and prioritization

        Conflict resolution skills

        Physical fitness for all-day field work
