Position Scope

Job Description: Toll Operations Attendant (Night & Day Shift)
Location: Mombasa

Role Purpose.
To monitor and operate electronic toll collection systems, provide first-line technical and customer support to motorists, ensure accurate transactions and compliance, and promptly report system or equipment issues to support safe and efficient toll plaza operations.

Job Description

·       Monitor and oversee the functionality of electronic toll collection (ETC) systems and lane equipment in real-time.

·       Provide first-line technical support and customer service to motorists regarding account issues, payment failures, and tag malfunctions.

·       Verify vehicle classification and escalate discrepancies for automated billing systems.

·       Document and report system errors, lane violations, and equipment faults promptly to the technical and supervisory teams.

·       Educate the public on the use of electronic tolling, account registration, and compliance procedures.

·       Maintain detailed logs of daily operations, incidents, and customer interactions.

·       Ensure compliance with traffic and safety regulations at the toll plaza.

·       Collaborate with maintenance and IT teams to facilitate quick resolution of technical issues.

Requirements

1. A minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in any of the following fields is required: Information Technology (IT), Business Management, Customer Service, or a related technical/vocational field.

2. At least 1 year of experience in a system-based operations role, such as:

·       Parking system operator

·       Gate control / access control attendant

·       Helpdesk / customer support agent

·       CCTV / control room monitoring
