Job Purpose
The F&B Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage services at Kongoni Camp. This role ensures that exceptional guest experiences are delivered consistently, staff are effectively managed and trained, and operational standards are maintained within the department. The F&B Supervisor will collaborate with the kitchen and events team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Operations Management
    • Supervise daily operations of the F&B department, including restaurant, bar, and catering services.
    • Ensure all F&B areas operate in compliance with Kongoni Camp’s standards and guidelines.
    • Oversee opening and closing procedures for the F&B department.
    • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene across all F&B areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
    • Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure food is served promptly and to the highest standards.
    • Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to identify any operational issues and report them to the Operations Manager.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service.
    • Address and resolve guest complaints or special requests swiftly and professionally.
    • Assist guests with menu selections, dietary inquiries, and recommendations on food and beverages.
    • Ensure the service team provides excellent customer service that exceeds guest expectations.
  • Staff Supervision and Training
    • Lead and manage the F&B team by delegating tasks, ensuring high performance, and fostering a positive work environment.
    • Conduct regular briefings with the team to communicate operational goals and updates.
    • Provide ongoing training for staff to enhance service skills, product knowledge, and adherence to hygiene protocols.
    • Monitor employee performance and address any performance issues through coaching or performance improvement plans.
    • Assist the Operations Manager in scheduling shifts to optimize staff coverage and minimize labor costs.
      Inventory and Budget Management
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring there is no overstocking or wastage.
    • Participate in ordering and procurement of F&B supplies, working closely with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
    • Assist in managing the F&B budget, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining high service standards.
    • Track sales and expenses, reporting any variances or concerns to the Operations Manager.
  • Events and Special Occasions
    • Collaborate with the kitchen to plan and execute events, including corporate functions, and private parties.
    • Ensure the seamless setup and service for all events, maintaining Kongoni Camp's standards.
    • Supervise staff during events, ensuring that guest expectations are met or exceeded.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the F&B industry.
  • Proven knowledge of F&B operations, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Experience in team leadership, training, and performance management.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
