Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our agrovet team and grow the company’s customer base and drive product sales by cultivating new leads, engaging existing and potential customers, ensuring timely deliveries, collecting payments, and managing customer expectations. The Field Sales Representative is responsible for representing the Agrovet to stockists and farmers, implementing loyalty programs, and collecting market intelligence to inform strategy.

 

Job Description

 

Lead Generation and Sales Execution

Prospect, recruit, and convert new customers within the assigned territory.

Sell the Agrovet products to new and existing clients with a focus on maximizing cash sales.

Follow up on customer leads, conduct product presentations, and close deals. 

Account and Credit Management

Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and payments.

Monitor customer credit balances and ensure timely debt collection as per credit terms.

Liaise with the Accounts Receivable team to reconcile client payments. 

Route and Territory Coverage

Plan and execute efficient route coverage for optimal customer outreach.

Visit clients regularly to maintain strong business relationships.

Manage multiple accounts simultaneously and ensure consistent service delivery. 

Customer Relationship and Loyalty Programs

Foster long-term relationships by addressing customer needs and expectations.

Handle stockists and farmer queries professionally, especially during stock shortages or delivery delays.

Serve as a brand ambassador by actively promoting the Agrovet’s loyalty programs. 

Market Intelligence and Reporting

Monitor competitor activities and market trends within assigned regions.

Provide weekly updates on sales activities, client feedback, and competitor pricing.

Recommend strategic adjustments to the Sales Manager based on customer and market insights.

Requirements

Qualification

Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Sales & Marketing.

 2+ years of experience in field sales, preferably in agro-inputs and agriculture related settings.

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills

Sales planning, pipeline, and route management

Familiarity with farming communities and agricultural products

Good record-keeping and reporting skills

High personal integrity and ability to work independently
