Position Scope

Position: Upper Primary Teacher
Location: Kiambu
Reports to: Head of Section. 

Job Summary:

Shaping learners' academic growth and development, ensuring high teaching standards, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Lesson planning, progress assessment, integrating technology to promote digital literacy, and managing the class, co-curricular, and extracurricular activity clubs assigned. 

Job Description

• Preparing and delivering lessons that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
• Maintaining discipline and ensuring a positive learning environment.
• Overseeing student behavior, progress, and adherence to school rules.
• Overseeing and reporting daily on the assigned class management in liaison with class subject teachers and the co-teacher.
• Adhering to the school’s academic standards when developing, updating, and maintaining the teaching professional documents. 
• Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience. 
• Serving as a mentor to learners, providing guidance on academic and personal development. 

Requirements

• P1 Teacher (English, CRE & Social Studies combinations or Diploma in Education.
• Registered with TSC.
• Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge in Microsoft Suite/Google Suite, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities. 
• Strong knowledge of subject matter and curriculum standards. 

Skills

P1 Teacher (English, CRE & Social Studies Combinations OR Diploma in Education, Registered with TSC. Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Good knowledge in Microsoft Suite / Google Suite especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint .
