Job Title: Medical Representative – Hospital & Parenteral Nutrition

Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Department: Sales & Marketing

Experience Required: 3–5 Years (Preferred in Parenteral Nutrition & Hospital Product Segment)

Qualification: Graduate – Preferably Science/Pharmacy Background

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Promotion & Awareness:
    Promote the company’s parenteral nutrition and hospital-based products to doctors, clinical nutritionists, pharmacists, and hospital procurement teams.
  • Market Development (Trade & Tender):
    Effectively manage and grow business in both trade channels (pharmacies, distributors) and tender/government hospital segment, including participation in tender bids, price negotiations, and documentation coordination.
  • Customer Engagement:
    Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders:
    • Hospital Pharmacists and Procurement Officers
    • Doctors and Clinical Specialists
    • Retail Pharmacists in trade channels
  • Sales Target Achievement:
    Ensure achievement of monthly and quarterly sales goals through focused coverage of high-potential accounts.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitor Tracking:
    Stay updated on competitor strategies, market pricing, and new product launches in the hospital nutrition and injectables segment.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    Submit timely reports including daily field activity, call reports, competitor activities, and business performance updates.
  • Training Participation:
    Actively participate in product knowledge and compliance training sessions conducted by the company.

 


Requirements

Key Job Requirements

Education: B.Sc. in Life Sciences, B.Pharm, or equivalent qualification

Experience: 3–5 years in pharmaceutical sales, preferably with:

    • Experience in parenteral nutrition, injectables, or hospital-focused therapies
    • Exposure to both trade and tender markets in Nairobi
    • Strong network of pharmacists and hospital decision-makers in the region
  • Key Skills:
    • Strong scientific knowledge and commercial acumen
    • Relationship-building with HCPs and pharmacists
    • Understanding of public sector procurement and private hospital sales
    • Self-driven, target-oriented, and excellent communication skills
