Job Title: Stock Controller

Job Purpose
To develop, manage, and maintain an effective stock control system that ensures accurate inventory levels, proper documentation, and efficient stock movement. The Stock Controller will be responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, optimizing stock levels, and supporting company operations through timely and accurate stock reporting.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve a robust stock control system tailored to the company's needs.
Classify inventory based on movement (fast, slow, seasonal, critical) and apply stock control techniques such as ABC analysis.
Define and maintain optimal stock levels, reorder points, and lead times to avoid stockouts and overstocking.
Create and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking stock.
Monitor stock movement daily, ensuring all stock transactions are recorded accurately in the inventory system.
Conduct regular stock takes, cycle counts, and physical reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Track and report on slow-moving, damaged, expired, or obsolete items and recommend action.
Manage inventory using stock management software (e.g., ERP or WMS), ensuring real-time updates and reporting.
Utilize barcoding, labeling, and digital tools to streamline inventory processes.
Generate regular inventory reports, including stock status, valuation, turnover, and trends.
Coordinate closely with procurement, warehouse, sales, and finance teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and smooth stock flow.
Communicate inventory issues and delays to relevant departments in a timely manner.
Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and proper documentation of goods.
Ensure proper handling and storage of household goods to maintain quality and prevent damage.
Comply with internal inventory control policies and external regulatory standards.
Implement and monitor security measures to prevent inventory loss, theft, or mismanagement.
Develop and track key inventory performance metrics such as inventory accuracy, shrinkage rate, stock turnover, and order fulfillment rate.
Analyze data to make informed recommendations on inventory optimization and cost-saving opportunities.
Provide weekly and monthly reports to management with insights and improvement suggestion.
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in inventory or stock control, preferably in the household goods, retail, or FMCG sector.
Experience implementing or managing inventory management systems.
Familiarity with warehousing practices and regulatory compliance is a plus.
