Position Scope

Location: Nairobi Headquarters

Reports To: Sales Manager

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven professional with a strong business background and experience in the agricultural sector. This role combines sales and order fulfilment responsibilities to drive revenue growth and ensure exceptional customer service.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Functions:

  • Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with NGOs, institutions, and large-scale farms.

    • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline.

  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and support.

  • Tender & RFQ Management:

    • Monitor and respond to relevant tenders and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) from government agencies, NGOs, and other institutions.

    • Analyze tender documents to assess feasibility and strategic alignment.

  • Sales Execution:

    • Present and promote products/services to clients.

    • Prepare and follow up on quotations, proposals, and contracts.

    • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

    • Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities.

Order Fulfilment Functions:

  • Order Processing:

    • Accurately process customer orders using ERP/CRM systems.

    • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor stock levels to prevent delays or stockouts.

    • Communicate proactively with customers regarding order status and delivery schedules.

  • Customer Support:

    • Handle field sales inquiries and provide after-sales support.

    • Resolve order discrepancies or delivery issues promptly.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Agribusiness, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and order fulfilment within the agricultural sector.

    • Proven track record in identifying, pursuing, and securing tenders and RFQs, particularly with NGOs and institutional clients in Kenya.

    • Experience with order processing and coordination.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    • Familiarity with CRM software is an advantage.

    • Fluency in English and Swahili.

Skills
